We are a family of four and enjoyed staying in this fantastic Ryokan, from its facility to the hospitality of the hotel staffs. Now, two of our daughters are in the stage of being an adult: the older one is in the last year in the university and the younger has passed the university entrance exam. We had planned this trip to Kyushu in order to give them an opportunity to feel the taste of staying in an authentic Ryokan. I had chosen this Ryokan to experience the excellence of the annex in Yuhu-in, although there are so many onsen sites accessible from Tokyo, like Kusatsu, Izu and so on. I couldn’t have known everything via internet, but the stay was very satisfying and it was much beyond our expectations!! On the booking form, I had mentioned very briefly that this trip was to celebrate for my older daughter being promised her employment and for my younger daughter entering the university. To my surprise, they just upgraded our room without us knowing about it. I was already grateful to that and then, another surprise was in the room. There were Origami cranes and cards with their warm greeting on them. Needless to say, my wife and children were so pleased from the treats. The apprentice who treated us in the dinner took great care of us, unlike the one considered as an apprentice. In the end of our stay, they even took a nice picture of us, framed it and gave it to us. Now we were reminded of the great memory by looking at it at home. I wrote this review to thank for the hospitality that is felt in the meals, bath and in every small moments of our stay and to thanks for their considerations. + More

I stayed here in my business trip. Although I arrived late, they welcomed me pleasantly with a smile. I was satisfied from the taste of the meal served shortly after the check-in and the atmosphere of the private dining. Especially I loved the rice cake with Ginko nuts in crushed shrimp paste and I could have several more from it. The annex had a stylish and great looking already from the entrance. It was very spacious, even though at some moment I thought that it is way too big just for me, I had great comfort staying here. Bathing in natural onsen with the view of starlights made my skin smooth and myself restored. I could see the sun rising on Mt. Yuhu through the big window in the lobby. The master of the house noticed me staying alone and talked to me friendly, I had a great time chatting with him. Also the kindness of the staffs, kindly telling their recommendation of Yuhu-in, or taking a picture of me. That allowed me to have a great stay. In the hospitality, the room and the bath, everything was excellent. Thank you, I would like to come with my child next time. + More

The ryokan was superb. I like traveling in ryokan and I always decide my accommodation prior to the destination, this Ryokan was the one that impressed me the most. The room was satisfying in the size, cleanness and the comfort. The outdoor onsen was great too. The meal served in the beautiful tableware had their quality, elegance and taste that matched with the image of each plate. It had a touch and amount focused for ladies. The heart-felt services of the staffs gave me pleasant feeling. I was even impressed to their attitude of working lively with smiles. There were selections of poetry by the landlady of the Ryokan, and they softened my heart. Thanks for the great time! + More

This was great ryokan in every senses; service, meal, bath and comfort. My partner who have been with me over 10 years claimed enthusiastically that this ryokan is the best among all. Their warm homey services helped us to feel at home. A male receptionist frankly suggest us tourist attractions or taught us the tips to take a good picture. Also lady apprentices served us smoothly in bright and lively manner. We had a pleasant time. Yume-no-Sato Area is fairly close to the reception, and has easy access between. As the ryokan seems to stand on a hill, the view from the guest room had a great overlook to the distance. I loved the outdoor onsen attached to the room, I bathed 5 times through my stay. It was only a bit pity that I couldn’t see Mt.Yuhu clearly due to the cloudy weather. The meal was delicious and in the amount of the food was right. It would be even better to consider the pace of serving dishes. Because the dishes were served quickly one after the another in the beginning, then we were left alone and had a hard time to call the staff. But overall it was delicious meals with local materials, and was also beautifully arranged to the eyes. The Miso soup with home-made Miso by the landlady was served in breakfast, and that was indescribably good so that I even wanted one for myself. I would had taken another portion if I wasn’t full. There were many considerations paid for keeping the guests warm: There was a rental of blankets and floor heating at rooms. Moreover, the embroidery made by the landlady was fantastic. To summarize it, I would like to thank them for letting us have a pleasant stay from the moment from pick-up till check-out. I am more than happy to stay here in my next opportunity to Yuhu-In. Thank you for offering these moments of happiness. + More
